243rd "Freighttrain" ASHC
While Stationed at Dong Ba Thin, Republic of Vietnam
The contents of this site have been provided by members of the 243rd and others. It gives a small insight into their time with the unit. There were countless events that took place from 1968 until 1972 when the unit stood down and was sent back to the states. This is a small representation of what took place during those years of service to the people of the United States of America. These men served proudly and with honor throughout their tours in a hostile environment. Some “gave all” and did not return, for some it was their only military experience, for some it was part of their chosen career – for all it was a life changing experience.

2019 Bunker Party Schedule of events:
Thursday June 6th -Arrival & Check-in, Memory Lane Motorsports & Historical Museum $8, open at 11AM, Evening entertainment - Eddie & Eddie
Friday June 7th - JR Motorsports tour - 10AM, Noon get-together & presentations - sub sandwich lunch provided, 5 PM Group dinner - HIllbilly's BBQ - $10 each, entertainment by Oak Grove String Band
Saturday June 8th - 8 AM Richard's Coffee Shop and Living Military Museum - breakfast n Music Jam at 9 AM, Afternoon Trip to NASCAR Hall of Fame - Charlotte NC $22 at the door.
Sunday June 9th – No events scheduled…
As always there's plenty of open time to get re-acquainted & swap war stories as well as explore Mooresville and the surrounding area... The only scheduled meeting time is Friday afternoon and the only scheduled meal is Friday evening
